Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive
- 7:00 AM: Depart Nairobi for a leisurely 5-hour drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Kenya’s premier safari destinations. Enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley en route to the reserve. (Alternatively, fly from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Keekorok Airstrip, a 45-minute flight, followed by a short 30-minute transfer to Sarova Mara Game Camp (13km from the airstrip).
- 12:30 PM: Arrive at Sarova Mara Game Camp, located within the stunning Maasai Mara Reserve and only 2.5 km from Sekenani Gate.
- 1:00 PM: Savor a freshly prepared lunch at the camp’s restaurant, offering a range of local and international cuisine.
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Head out for your first game drive across the Maasai Mara, famous for its rich wildlife, including the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, and Leopard), and other incredible species like zebras, gazelles, and hippos.
Note: Guests who prefer not to join the game drive should inform their guide in advance to ensure the rest of the group is not delayed.
- 6:30 PM: Return to the camp for a relaxing dinner and free time to unwind by the campfire.
Day 2: Full Day of Safari Adventures and Cultural Exploration
- 6:00 AM: Early morning wake-up call with tea or coffee.
- 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Begin your early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara. This is the best time to witness the wildlife in action. Keep an eye out for lions hunting and elephants roaming through the vast savannah.
- (Note: Kindly be at the vehicle by 6:15 AM to ensure a timely departure.)
- 9:30 AM: Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, with options that cater to all dietary preferences.
- 11:00 AM: Enjoy the lodge’s complimentary activities, such as mini-golf, archery, a tour of the Chef’s Organic Garden, or a refreshing dip in the temperature-controlled pool.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch at the camp’s restaurant, where local and international flavours meet.
- 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Visit a nearby Masai village and immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Masai people. Witness traditional Maasai dances, learn about their customs, and see their vibrant beadwork.
- 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Enjoy a second afternoon game drive, potentially spotting the Big Five and other species like wildebeest and hippos. If you’re visiting between July and October, witness the world-renowned Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River.
- 7:30 PM: Relax with a bush dinner (optional, at an additional cost) or enjoy dinner at the camp’s restaurant under the starry African skies.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure
- 6:00 AM: Optional early morning wake-up call for the final game drive (Optional)
- 7:00 AM: Have full breakfast and time to relax by the pool or in your tent before checkinout.
- 10:00 AM: Check out and depart for Nairobi, either by road or air. For road travellers, enjoy the 5-hour scenic drive back to Nairobi. For those flying, take a short flight back from Keekorok Airstrip to Wilson Airport.
